A Trust is a written document that controls the disposition of your assets during your life, as well as after your death. Some of the benefits of creating a Trust are:

- Reduction or avoidance of estate taxes
- Avoid probate proceedings (privacy)
- Maintain separate assets in second marriages
- Maintain money and assets (by a trustee) until young beneficiaries reach a responsible age

In recent years, Trusts (also commonly known as Living Trusts) have received a lot of coverage in the media. Trusts are extremely beneficial for some, but in reality, they are not for everyone.
