Susan F. Gray
Susan F. Gray is the law firm's former office manager and long-time legal assistant to our managing attorney, Philip J. Curtis. She joined our firm in 1990. In October 2022, she retired from full-time employment after 32 years of dedicated service to our firm, and now assists us on a part-time basis.
During her employment, in addition to her administrative responsibilities, Susan assisted our attorneys with business and corporate matters, real estate, estate planning, probate and trust administration, and 401(k) and other employee benefit plan administration for our business clients. She is a certified notary public in the State of Michigan.
Prior to joining us, she held a number of legally relevant and interesting positions, including working as a supervisor in the foreclosure department of a national bank; legal secretary for an international food franchisor; foreclosure specialist with a national mortgage company; assistant to the Judge Advocate General of the United States Air Force; and a clerk in the Army Corps of Engineers and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Susan was born and raised in Ohio, and attended the University of Northern Iowa while working and raising a family with her husband. They moved to Jackson, Michigan, in 1988.
In her spare time, Susan enjoys volunteering at her church, assisting with its food pantry and Christmas programs, and traveling to visit their family around the country. Growing up in Ohio, and having lived in Columbus, she is a passionate Ohio State Buckeye fan, which makes for an interesting office rivalry during college football season.
