Post-Judgment Divorce Matter Resolved with Sale of Home and Reimbursement of Expenses
Our family law lawyers were retained by a party to a divorce case after a Judgment of Divorce was entered requiring that real estate be sold by a certain date, among other terms. When the other party refused to cooperate after good-faith efforts by our client, we filed a motion in the divorce court to force a sale and seek reimbursement for all costs incurred. At the first hearing, we obtained an order from the judge requiring the opposing party to cooperate with the sale under certain terms. After multiple hearings, the property was sold, and our client was reimbursed for 100% of the expenses related to the house.
