Philip J. Curtis is the managing attorney of Curtis & Curtis, P.C., which was founded by his grandfather in 1901. He concentrates his practice on a broad spectrum of legal areas, including business law; employee benefits; employment law and relations; estate planning; taxation of individuals and businesses; probate, trust and estate administration; and real estate.
Mr. Curtis is a business attorney with an emphasis on transactions, including mergers and acquisitions; the purchase and sale of businesses and equipment; business reorganizations; business succession and exit planning; complex real estate transactions; and employee benefits. He represents and counsels many family-owned and closely-held companies in Jackson and throughout mid-Michigan.
Mr. Curtis received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan in 1967. He received his Juris Doctor degree from Wayne State University Law School in 1970. He has been practicing law in Jackson, Michigan with Curtis & Curtis, P.C. since 1970. He is actively involved in the local community, serving as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Purple Rose Theatre in Chelsea, Michigan, and also as a board member for the Jackson Symphony Orchestra (JSO) and the Jackson School of the Arts.
