Boundary Dispute Between Lakefront Property Owners Litigated and Resolved Favorably
Our real estate attorneys were retained by a property owner who owned a cottage on a local Jackson County lake. A dispute arose with his neighbor over the location of the boundary line between their two properties after his neighbor obtained a new survey. The case was litigated for over a year, mediated unsuccessfully, but after we filed a motion for summary disposition (a request to ask the Court to award a judgment immediately without a trial), the case settled for nearly all of the relief our client requested prior to being sued.
