JACKSON TRIAL COURT VICTORY IN LONGTIME REAL ESTATE DISPUTE
Years ago, a prominent, local Jackson couple relocated outside of Michigan for employment reasons. With the depressed real estate market during the Great Recession, they entered into a unique transaction to sell their Jackson County home and farm. In the years since, they have endured a buyer who has been in and out of federal bankruptcy and state courts, having to defend themselves and their financial interests in multiple cases and appeals. Finally, the parties litigated their dispute in Jackson County and, after a heated trial, the Judge ruled in our clients' favor on every issue, and entered a judgment exceeding $275,000. The trial award was upheld on appeal. Attorney Brad A. Brelinski led the bankruptcy and state court litigation teams.
