SUCCESSFUL SETTLEMENT OF CASE INVOLVING REAL ESTATE, ABANDONMENT AND PROBATE

Our client owned lake property in southern Michigan. During a long-term relationship, he put his partner's name on the deed (without the assistance of an attorney). Eventually, the relationship ended, she abandoned him and the property, filed for bankruptcy and died shortly after. Her adult children made a claim for 50% of the value of the lake property.
